Wings of Wor for Nintendo Switch

So I was scrolling through some obscure Xbox One titles the other day, looking for something weird to pass the time, and stumbled on Wings of Wor. It’s one of those “wait, this exists?” kind of games-no big studio behind it, no hype, just a tiny action title from Masaya that somehow made its way onto Softonic. I figured, why not? It’s free, the rating’s high, and honestly, I needed a break from the usual shooters and RPGs.

The good stuff

The controls are surprisingly tight for something so low-key. You’re flying through these looping, neon-drenched levels as a little bird-like thing, dodging lasers and collecting power-ups. There’s a rhythm to it-dodging left, weaving right, then pulling off a quick barrel roll-that actually feels satisfying. One level had me bouncing off walls like a pinball, and I swear I laughed out loud when I accidentally did a perfect loop-de-loop and cleared the whole zone. The visuals are simple but effective-lots of sharp edges and glowing lines that make the chaos feel intentional instead of messy. Kinda reminds me of a mix between Jet Set Radio and an old-school shooter, but with less polish and more charm.

The not-so-good

But here’s the thing-it’s really short. Like, you can beat it in under an hour if you’re focused. And once you do, there’s nothing left. No replay value, no unlockables, no second run options. The music’s catchy but gets stuck in your head in a bad way after a while. Also, the lack of any real difficulty curve means it either feels too easy or you’re just trying to rush through it. If you’re into longer games with progression, this isn’t going to cut it. And yeah, it’s listed as being for Nintendo Switch, but the actual version is on Xbox One. That’s a weird mismatch, and it makes you wonder if this is even officially released or just a fan upload.

Bottom line

If you’re bored and want five minutes of fast, colorful action without needing to commit, give Wings of Wor a shot. It’s free, it runs fine on Xbox One, and it’s oddly entertaining in small doses. But don’t expect anything deep. It’s not worth downloading for anyone who wants a full experience. Just a neat little glitch in the system, really.
